Abel Sanchez was born in the Bronx, and raised in Paterson, NJ. Ever since he was a kid his favorite pass time was listening to the radio and imitating his favorite DJ's. Soon after getting turntables and a mixer as a gift from his dad, his passion for playing music had him DJ-ing parties. Before long he was playing in local NJ clubs. But it wasn't the same as being on the radio. So Abel enrolled into The Connecticut School Of Broadcasting, upon graduating, Abel got his start at WKTU where he was a phone-op/producer. It was there that he established a friendship with Broadway Bill Lee and his wife, Beth Bacall. Abel wasted no time in absorbing all he could from his mentors, and soon thereafter, Abel landed an On-Air gig at WAWZ/STAR 99.1 NYC, where under Beth s tutelage he quickly became an established personality taking his air shift from 21st place to a tie for 4th in the Arbitron ratings.
In 2004 Abel was an A.I.R Award nominee for Mixshow DJ of the Year. In addition to his on air talents his production skills did not go unnoticed as he completely re-imaged and rebranded the station. These abilities caught the attention of Jarad Broadcasting who recruited Abel to be the voice of "The World Famous" WLIR as well as becoming the afternoon personality for sister station WBON 98.5 "La Fiesta" In addition, Abel was Production Director for all three Jarad Broadcasting Stations WLIR 107.1, WBON 98.5, WDRE. When given the opportunity to join WNYZ/Pulse 87.7 staff Abel did not hesitate!
